Animation: "Witch" - Sample Character Designs

My first short animation codenamed "Witch" has been on my mind since late 2005. I recently dusted off one of my ancient sketchbooks and discovered a few early creations of my characters. I thought to myself, "Hmm. Geee. I forgot this even existed..."

This triggered for me to search through my digital archives if I had saved anymore old sketches related to this particular animation and alas when I thought I would end up empty-handed I found the drawing below:

Here is an updated version (b) for this character:

I have a few thumbnail sketches of different versions for this character that I'll bring to life, but I thought I'd do a quick test in comparison for fun. ;)

More to come~

Hi! It's me again! I wanted to e-mail you my answers to your message, but didn't find how. So here it goes!

How I made my animation: I animated my short traditionnally on paper. But I used a software called Toon Boom Opus to scan, color and do the FXs.

But right now I'm using a lot Macromedia Flash to make everything.
It's 10 times easier to do animation than image ready or after effect. After Effect can be useful though if you want to add some FX, or animate pans and zooms and other stuff.

And I really like Adobe Premiere to make the final montage of my avis and sounds.

These explications are quite quick and short. So if you have some more specific questions, feel free to e-mail me!

And about the storyboard template, I don't mind. It was originally provided by my school. So as long as it's not directly copied, it's fine. ^_^

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my bothersome questions. It helps a ton. Thank you very much.

I actually couldn't decide what e-mail address to leave in my profile, so I ended up without having listed. Sorry! I'll remember to leave one down to make it easier if I have any future questions (which I bet I probably will).
